Position Summary
This is a hands-on, "many hats" role at our Boise store. You will keep the lot organized and delivery-ready as a Lot Porter, and you will prepare and hand off units to customers as a Walk-Through Technician, inspecting each coach and teaching new owners how to operate their RV with confidence. It is a great fit for someone who is mechanically inclined, comfortable moving large vehicles, and enjoys helping people. This role is also a natural on-ramp toward lead technician or service advisor positions for the right person.
The Lot Porter Hat
Keeping the lot organized, safe, and ready to sell and deliver.
Move, stage, and park motorhomes, fifth-wheels, and towable units around the lot and into service or delivery bays.
Maintain an organized, presentable lot: logical unit placement, clear drive lanes, and tidy display areas.
Connect and disconnect tow vehicles and trailers; hitch, back, and position units in tight spaces safely.
Fuel, jump, and reposition units as needed; keep batteries charged and units ready to show.
Perform basic lot upkeep: keep units clean, report damage, and flag maintenance or safety issues.
Assist with receiving new inventory and staging sold units for delivery.
The Walk-Through Technician Hat
Preparing units and educating customers at delivery.
Perform pre-delivery inspections (PDI) and quality checks on units before customer handoff.
Test and verify RV systems: slide-outs, leveling/jacks, awnings, 12V/120V electrical, propane, water and holding tanks, appliances, and safety devices.
Conduct thorough customer walk-throughs, teaching new owners how to safely operate and maintain every system on their coach.
Answer customer questions patiently and set realistic expectations, since many buyers are new to RVing.
Identify and document any issues found during inspection and coordinate fixes with the service team.
Ensure each unit is clean, fully functional, and delivery-ready before the customer arrives.
What We’re Looking For
Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record; comfortable driving and backing large vehicles (training provided).
Mechanically inclined with a willingness to learn RV systems; prior RV, automotive, marine, or trades experience is a plus.
Strong customer-service instincts: patient, clear, and friendly when teaching first-time owners.
Dependable, safety-minded, and organized, with attention to detail.
Able to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather and on your feet for much of the day.
Physical Requirements
Frequently walk, stand, bend, kneel, climb in and out of units, and reach overhead throughout the shift.
Lift and maneuver items up to 50 lbs; operate hitches, jacks, and leveling equipment.
Work outdoors in heat, cold, and precipitation as the season requires.
Compensation & Growth
Full-time hourly position; rate depends on experience (see quick facts above, and set the range before posting). This role is intentionally cross-trained: strong performers have a clear path toward lead technician, service advisor, or delivery specialist roles as the Idaho store grows.
